Deals in everyday Tech require a bit of research. There are many sources at a variety of prices. As always it is recommended that you do not be seduced by sometimes inflated specifications or so-called "performance benchmarks". What do you need to do? Will the item meet your everyday needs?

The other factor in deciding where to buy is a major one: how fast do you need it?

There are 3 main level of getting things fast:
1. Going to a store
2. Ordering on from a quick delivery online merchant: Costco, Amazon, etc.
3. Ordering from a merchant in China or in the Far East.

One of the very popular everyday tech items is a Media Streamer. Here are some example at the extreme of price points:

This is the 'cream of the crop Media Box. It is also the most expensive. It has been reviewed extensively and if budget is not an option this is the box for you. It runs Android TV soon to be (rumored) Google TV, and NVIDIA has always provided numerous software updates for both the unit and the remote. It works really well, but will set you back about $250.00.

This is a typical Android Media player with a difference. It runs Android TV, which makes a big difference in how you can enjoy viewing. It has nowhere near the performance of an NVIDIA Shield. It will give you sufficient performance for enjoyable watching. Remember if you do not have unlimited internet access it may be a tremendous cost issue. You also need a fast internet connection to enjoy smooth streaming.
